Google OAuth and Data Access

How QueueBill uses Google permissions

Effective date: May 26, 2026

QueueBill uses Google in two separate ways: Google sign-in for app identity, and optional file-level access when a vendor turns on Customer Live Tracking.

What the vendor sees

  1. The vendor signs in to QueueBill with Google.
  2. The app opens local store mode directly. No activation code, store code, or checkout is required for local billing.
  3. If the vendor opens Settings -> Customer Live Tracking, QueueBill asks for a second Google consent.
  4. QueueBill creates one vendor-owned tracking Sheet, adds the public_status tab, makes that tab readable by link, verifies it, and saves the setup on the phone.

Google permissions QueueBill requests

Identity

Basic Google account identity

Used for Firebase Auth sign-in and to show which Google account owns the QueueBill session.

Drive file

Create and manage the QueueBill tracking Sheet

Used only when Customer Live Tracking setup runs. The app requests https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file so it can create and update the Sheet it created.

QueueBill does not request full Drive access, full Sheets access, Gmail access, or script-management access. If the setup cannot complete with drive.file, the app should fail clearly instead of silently asking for wider permission.

What QueueBill stores in Google

  • One vendor-owned Google Sheet for Customer Live Tracking.
  • A public_status tab with public-safe rows: public token, token number, store name, status, message, position, updated time, expiry time, and schema version.
  • Setup metadata on the vendor phone, such as spreadsheet ID, tab ID, account email, read mode, enabled state, and last sync status.

What QueueBill does not store in the public Sheet

  • No order items, bill totals, payment method, payment details, private notes, device IDs, customer names, customer phone numbers, or vendor email.
  • No unrelated personal Google Drive files are read for tracking setup.
  • No Google credentials are typed into QueueBill.
  • No Google user data is sold or used for advertising.

Revoking access

Vendors can revoke QueueBill access from their Google Account permissions page. Local billing can continue after revocation, but Customer Live Tracking may need reconnecting or a new Sheet setup.
